Susmita Dasgupta is the Founder of Heather House LLP, a platform dedicated to fostering new knowledge and understanding. She retired as Joint Chief Economist from the Joint Plant Committee, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, after a distinguished 34-year career as a policy economist. Her work has been instrumental in shaping steel sector policy and economic analysis in India. She is the author of Economics of the Indian Steel Industry, published by Taylor & Francis (UK), which encapsulates her decades-long experience and insights into the sector’s evolution, challenges, and strategic importance in India’s industrial growth.
